As political activities begin to shape early alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, Engr Toheeb Adegoke, PDP House of Representatives candidate for Akinyele and Lagelu Federal Constituency, has made a strong call for continuity of ongoing development initiatives across Oyo State.
Adegoke, who is positioning himself as a grassroots focused political voice in the constituency, said the 2027 decision before the people is straightforward, stressing that it should be anchored on sustaining the developmental strides recorded under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.
He noted that visible improvements in road infrastructure, education, and community development projects have reshaped governance expectations across the state, adding that residents are now more concerned about continuity than change.
“The 2027 choice is simple and must be guided by the need to protect and expand the progress already achieved across our communities,” Adegoke said.
According to him, the focus should be on deepening grassroots inclusion and ensuring that every ward within Akinyele and Lagelu continues to benefit from government presence in a consistent and meaningful way.
He emphasized that leadership at this stage must prioritize stability and consolidation rather than disruption, arguing that development efforts already in place should be strengthened for wider impact.
“The strength of leadership lies in continuity and the ability to remain connected to the people at the grassroots,” he stated.
Adegoke further maintained that governance must remain people centered, with emphasis on delivering measurable results that reflect the needs of local communities across the constituency.
He added that what the people expect now is not experimentation, but the reinforcement of ongoing progress that is already visible in several communities.
“I am committed to ensuring that development continues without interruption and that every community feels the real impact of governance,” he added.
As political discussions gradually intensify, attention is expected to shift toward how aspirants position themselves around issues of continuity, performance, and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
