A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ibadan North local government, Hon Abiodun Agboluaje has formally resigned his membership from the ruling party, citing internal party crises and the need for a clearer political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This was contained in statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday.

“After careful consideration and wide consultation with my supporters, political associates, and loyalists, I, Abiodun Agboluaje, hereby announce my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“This decision became necessary due to the lingering irreconcilable differences, persistent litigations, and the deep factionalization currently affecting the party at different levels.

“These internal crises have continued to weaken the unity, stability, and progressive ideals which many of us once believed in and worked tirelessly to sustain.

“As a committed grassroots politician and proud son of Ibadanland, my passion for service and genuine representation of the people remains unwavering.

“I remain fully committed to my aspiration of contesting for the Oyo State House of Assembly seat to represent Ibadan North State Constituency II in the 2027 general elections.

“My focus remains the advancement, development, and proper representation of our people through purposeful, inclusive, and people-oriented leadership.
“I sincerely appreciate all party leaders, members, supporters, and associates who have stood by me over the years. I look forward to the next phase of this political journey with renewed hope, strength, and determination.”
Signed:
Abiodun Agboluaje
