…PDP, APM Members Declare Support, Say Former Party Short-Changed Him

There was jubilation across Oluyole Federal Constituency following the decision of Otunba Olusina John Ogunsola to obtain the African Democratic Congress (ADC) House of Representatives nomination form ahead of the forthcoming general election.

Supporters, political associates, youths and community leaders expressed excitement over the development, describing it as a major turning point in the political history of the constituency.

The development has also continued to attract support from members of other political parties, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), many of whom openly declared their readiness to support the ADC aspirant.

Speaking during a political gathering in Oluyole, a PDP member said, “Otunba Olusina John Ogunsola has consistently demonstrated commitment to the welfare of the people. His empowerment initiatives, humanitarian activities and support for the grassroots have earned him admiration beyond political affiliations.”

An APM stakeholder who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also described Ogunsola as “a politician with strong grassroots appeal and deep connection with ordinary people”, adding that “many residents believe he possesses the experience and capacity to provide quality representation for the constituency”.

Some political stakeholders in the constituency further alleged that Ogunsola was unfairly treated in his former political party, PDP, despite his loyalty, sacrifices and contributions over the years.

A supporter who spoke with journalists stated, “Many people strongly believe Otunba Ogunsola was short-changed in PDP.“
“Despite all he contributed to the growth of the party and his popularity among the people, he was denied the opportunity many felt he deserved.”
The supporter added, “That situation has further strengthened the resolve of many political actors and residents to rally behind him under the ADC platform.”
Meanwhile, youth groups and community leaders across Oluyole Federal Constituency have continued mobilisation efforts in support of the ADC aspirant ahead of the election.
A youth leader in the constituency said, “This movement is beyond politics. The people are supporting Otunba Ogunsola because they have seen his impact over the years.“
“Many believe he understands the needs of the constituency and will prioritise the welfare of the people if elected,“ he said.
