The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, emerged as one of the major highlights of the historic PDP/APM Unity Mega Rally held at the iconic Mapo Hall, Ibadan, as he led a massive delegation of party faithful, stakeholders, youths, women groups, and supporters from Ibadan North to the grand political gathering.
The rally, which witnessed the formal declaration of Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde’s presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general election, attracted thousands of supporters across Oyo State and beyond.
However, Hon. Olufade’s energetic mobilization and visible show of loyalty to Governor Makinde reportedly stole the spotlight at the event.
Arriving at the venue with a large and enthusiastic crowd of supporters chanting solidarity songs in support of Governor Makinde and the PDP/APM alliance, Hon. Olufade reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the leadership and vision of the Oyo State Governor.
Speaking shortly after the rally, the Ibadan North Chairman described Governor Seyi Makinde as “the most credible, competent, and people-oriented leader Nigeria needs at this critical point in history.”
According to him, Governor Makinde’s achievements in Oyo State across infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, workers’ welfare, and economic development have clearly distinguished him as a national asset capable of repositioning Nigeria for greatness.
“Today’s rally is beyond politics. It is a movement to rescue Nigeria and restore hope to the people. Governor Seyi Makinde has demonstrated capacity, courage, competence, and sincerity in governance.
He is not just the best candidate for the presidency in 2027, he is the leader Nigerians have been waiting for,” Hon. Olufade stated.
He further assured Nigerians that the PDP/APM alliance would provide the credible alternative needed to strengthen democracy and return governance to the people.
Hon. Olufade also commended the overwhelming turnout at the rally, noting that the massive support from residents of Ibadan North reflected the growing acceptance of Governor Makinde’s presidential ambition across grassroots communities.
“Our people believe in Governor Makinde because they have seen the evidence of good governance. From roads to schools, healthcare, empowerment, and workers’ welfare, his administration has touched lives positively.
Nigerians deserve this same style of leadership at the national level,” he added.
Political observers at the rally noted that Hon. Olufade’s strong mobilization capacity and influence within Ibadan North once again reaffirmed his growing political relevance within the PDP structure in Oyo State.
The Unity Mega Rally also featured the formal alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), as party leaders emphasized unity, grassroots mobilization, and issue-based politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With the successful hosting of the rally and the formal declaration of Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition, political stakeholders described the gathering as the beginning of a new political movement aimed at reshaping Nigeria’s democratic future.
