The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has expressed concern over disturbing developments surrounding the establishment of “Ibadan Security Guard” by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.

CCII said the “Ibadan Security Guard” has been collaborating effectively with federal security agencies to reduce insecurity across Ibadanland and Oyo State to the barest minimum.

A statement by CCII President General, Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole acknowledge and commended the unwavering efforts of the Olubadan toward strengthening peace, security, and stability in Ibadanland.

According to him, instead of commendation and support, some individuals are allegedly working with bad elements to frustrate the noble efforts of the Olubadan in ensuring a safer environment for the people.

Ajewole urged all sons and daughters of Ibadan to support the initiatives, which has helped to protect lives and property across the city, particularlly at this critical time when collective security efforts are highly needed.

He described the “Ibadan Security Guard” as genuine efforts aimed at reducing insecurity, and should be encouraged and strengthened, not undermined.

The CCII therefore called on all stakeholders to remained united and support the vision of the Olubadan while promoting stronger collaboration between community security structures and federal security agencies for sustainable peace and development in Ibadanland.
