Olooye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke has been declared the winner of he African Democratic Congress, (ADC) Governorship Primary conducted across all the wards in the state on Friday.

Declaring the results of the primary on Saturday evening, the Chairman of Primary Committee, Hon. Rasak Salinsile said Chief Adegoke polled 16,051 to emerge the winner.



Adegoke beats other four aspirants namely , Chief Bisi Ilaka who polled 11,415 votes; Chief Gbemilade Alagbe polled 241 votes; Dr.Azeez Adeduntan, 155 votes and Barrister Niyi Aborishade 67 votes.



Adegoke who is the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland with this result will fly the ADC flag as its governorship candidate in the February 2027 Governorship and State Assembly election.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee said the delay in announcing the results was because of the large size of the state, saying the results from some part of the state was received Saturday afternoon
Speaking after his declaration as the winner of the Oyo State ADC Governorship Primary, Olooye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke has promised what he called Incremental developments in Oyo State.
While thanking the members of the ADC across Oyo State for voting him as their Governorship Candidate, Adegoke also beckoned to the other four aspirants’ to join him in building a prosperous and peaceful Oyo State.
Adegoke who said no man is an Island, said he is ready to work with the other four aspirants , expressing joy that some of the aspirants are already pledging their cooperation with him.
He urged the ADC members to put in serious work , saying “the job has just started. Please mobilise our people ahead of next year’s election, tell them the good things we have in stock for them. Tell our people it
According to him, “I am ready to work with everybody. We will work together. We will brainstorm together for the betterment of Oyo State.
“I will bring incremental developments to Oyo State. Where the present government stops, there we will start.
Adegoke said his government will not harass anybody, saying his government will put security of the people in the front burner.
“We will not push the security issue to the back. We will give it priority. Oyo State will enjoy massive developments. We will find solutions to all the problems confronting the state. Problems of education, health even water. When I was growing up there was tap water everywhere in Ibadan and other parts of the state. We will resuscitate such good gestures to our people.
“It is going to be a different ball game from May next year when I assume office”
