The Interim National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party have called for the total overhaul of security apparatuses in the country, challenging the federal government to awake to its responsibility of protecting lives and properties of Nigerians.

They made the call during a condolence visit to Governor Seyi Makinde over the recent Oriire abduction of teachers and pupils in the state and killing of teachers.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki acknowledged the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde in addressing the situation, noting that the attempt from some quarters to heap security responsibility solely on the Governor is totally misplaced as the buck of security responsibility and its structure lie with the Federal Government.
