The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Candidate for Oyo State House of Assembly, Akinyele Constituency II, Hon. Olalere Solomon ERE, has congratulated the people of Akinyele Constituency II and Nigerians at large on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration. He described June 12 as a historic milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey and a day set aside to honour the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of the nation’s heroes who fought tirelessly for democratic governance.
In a Democracy Day message made available to the public, Hon.Olalere Solomon ERE noted that the significance of June 12 extends beyond remembrance, as it serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility of citizens to protect democratic institutions and uphold the values of justice, equity, accountability, and good governance. He paid glowing tribute to the heroes past whose sacrifices laid the foundation for the democratic freedoms Nigerians enjoy today, urging citizens not to take those hard earned gains for granted.
According to him, “June 12 reminds us that democracy is strongest when the people remain united, actively engaged, and hopeful about the future. It is a day to reflect on how far we have come as a nation and recommit ourselves to building a society where every citizen has equal opportunities to thrive. As we celebrate this landmark day, we must continue to promote peace, tolerance, and community development while supporting leaders and policies that prioritize the welfare of the people.”
Hon. Olalere Solomon ERE further reaffirmed his commitment to championing the interests of the people of Akinyele Constituency II through quality representation, people-oriented legislation, and grassroots development initiatives.
