The apex leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan South East Local Government has reaffirmed its unalloyed loyalty to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, while declaring total support for the party’s governorship candidate, Mr. Abimbola Adekanmbi.

The decision was reached during a major stakeholder meeting held today at the local government secretariat in Mapo, Ibadan.

In a joint statement, the party leaders praised Governor Makinde for transforming Oyo State through sustainable infrastructural projects and demonstrating astute leadership that has directly impacted the lives of residents.

“The governor has done well for us in Ibadan South East and Oyo State at large,” the statement read. “He has implemented legacy projects that will live beyond this generation.

We have no other obligation than to affirm our loyalty to his administration. All APM leaders, stakeholders, and political functionaries in the local government are standing by him, and we will support his aspiration to become the President of Nigeria.”

Alongside their commitment to Governor Makinde, the stakeholders pledged to aggressively mobilize party members and the general electorate to ensure a resounding victory for Mr. Abimbola Adekanmbi in the 2027 gubernatorial election.

The high-profile meeting drew a significant turnout of top government officials and political stalwarts, including:
Hon. Dare Adeleke (Leader) and Hon. Kunmi Adesina
Prof. Dahood Sangodoyin (Commissioner for Energy)
Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin (representing Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency)
Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige (Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board)
Hon. Oluwole Alawode (Chairman, Ibadan South East Local Government)
Hon. Abiodun Adedoja (Ekolo) (Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy Security)
Alhaji Yusuf Ali Temitope (Supreme) (Full-Time Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission)
Hon. Modiu Opeyemi Akande & Hon. Yinka Omikunle (State Assembly Members)
Engr. Sulaiman Adesina (World Best) & Hon. Olajide Oluwole (PDP Chairmen, Past and Present).

The leaders concluded that the unified front within the local government ensures a solid foundation for the party’s success moving toward the 2027 polls.
