Members of “Team Arapaja” in the Oluyole Local Government area converged at Olomi Community Primary School 1 on Friday for their first strategic meeting following the high-profile defection of their leader, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Ibrahim Ayobamitale, a former PDP candidate for the Oluyole State Constituency, strongly defended Arapaja’s decision. Ayobamitale argued that despite his principal’s extensive efforts to build and strengthen the PDP, he was repeatedly subjected to unfair treatment and denied the political recognition matching his intimidating profile.

Other stakeholders at the meeting launched sharp criticisms against Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde. They accused the governor of allowing power to cloud his judgment, alleging a persistent pattern of disrespect toward prominent political figures and key loyalists who originally paved his path to leadership.

Steering their focus toward the future, the group firmly resolved to channel their structures entirely into the APC. They concluded the meeting with a unanimous pledge to work aggressively across every ward to guarantee an overwhelming victory for all APC candidates—spanning from the presidency to the State House of Assembly—in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Prominent attendees and party stalwarts present at the strategic meeting included Hon. Ayobamitale Ibrahim, Baba Saka, Otolorin, Alhaji Akeem Olowoake, Baba Ayuba Oluyole, Alhaji Moruf Kolawole Yoboro, former youth leader Pastor Oluseye Falade, Hon. Odekunle, Mogaji Ademola Taofeek, and Ajisefinni Kola, Aseyori Dauda and others.
