The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke Ayodele has extended warm congratulations to Professor Peter Olamakinde Olapegba on his appointment as the 14th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI) describing the appointment as a proud moment for Ibarapa Central, Oyo State and Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message signed by the executive chairman and made available through his personal assistant, Hon. Adeleke described Professor Olapegba’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of excellence, integrity, academic distinction and decades of outstanding contributions to higher education and national development.
The Chairman noted that the appointment of Professor Olapegba, an illustrious son of Ibarapa Central and a renowned Professor of Psychology is a testament to his exceptional leadership qualities, vast administrative experience and commitment to academic excellence. He expressed confidence that the new Vice-Chancellor would provide purposeful leadership and further strengthen the University of Ibadan’s reputation as Nigeria’s premier institution of higher learning.
Hon. Adeleke stated that Professor Olapegba’s remarkable achievement has once again placed Ibarapa Central in the national spotlight, inspiring young people across the Local Government to pursue excellence through hard work, discipline and dedication.

Hon. Adeleke prayed that Almighty God would grant the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor divine wisdom, sound health, strength and uncommon grace to successfully lead the University of Ibadan into a new era of academic excellence, groundbreaking research, innovation, and global recognition.
