Another batch of retired Primary School Teachers, Local Government Retirees and next-of-kins of deceased pensioners in Ibadan city have received their gratuities, pension-related entitlements and death benefits at Ibadan South East Local Government, Mapo, Ibadan.



Welcoming the beneficiaries to the payment exercise, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, expressed his appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his administration’s commitment to the welfare of pensioners and retired workers across the state.


Hon. Alawode also commended the Local Government Staff Pension Board, under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, as well as the Board’s management and staff, for their continued efforts towards ensuring that retirees receive their entitlements.




The Chairman advised the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the money, stressing that the payment was aimed at improving their welfare and giving them some financial relief after their years of dedicated service to the government and people of Oyo State.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for his support and commitment to the payment of pension and retirement benefits. He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to judiciously utilise the funds for their wellbeing and that of their families.
The Permanent Secretary, Ibadan Zone 1, Barrister Kola Alaga, also addressed the gathering, commending the beneficiaries for their patience and encouraging them to use the opportunity provided by the payment to improve their quality of life.
The duo of Comrade Dosu Akinpelu representing the retired Primary School Teachers’ wing and Comrade Ricketts Olasupo, who represented the State Chairman of the Retired Local Government Staff wing appreciated the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration for its efforts in addressing the concerns of pensioners and for its commitment to the welfare of retirees and pensioners.
They noted that the regular payment of retirement benefits has continued to bring relief and renewed hope to pensioners and their families.
Also present at the event were the HLGA, Ibadan South East Local Government, Dr. Agnes Olakunbi Ojo; HLGA, Ibadan North West, Mrs. Omolara Oladepo; Acting HLGA, Local Government Staff Pension Board, Alhaji Musbau Oladele; Director of Environmental Services, Ibadan South East LG, Mrs. Omolola Aransi, Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Kayode Bamgbade, Director of Finance and Supply, Mr. Abidemi Ogunmakinde, Director of Budget Planning and Statistics, LGSPB, Mr. Oluwole Kehinde; Director of Education and Social Services/Information Officer, Mrs. Banke Adeyemi, among other senior government officials and stakeholders.
The payment exercise further demonstrated the commitment of the Oyo State Government and the Local Government Staff Pension Board to prioritising the welfare of retirees who contributed immensely to the development and growth of the state.
