Gov Makinde,Ogbomoso Southwest Chair Making Education Attractive at Grassroots– Hon Amusan Damilare
Local Governments were created to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots and rapid development to the remotest area in states of the federation.
To this end, the Caretaker Chairman of Ogbomoso Southwest Local Council Development Area, Hon Amusan Damilare Gideon swung into action and has imparted positively in all areas with the view to bringing succour to the people of the Council Area.
Upon his appointment as the Chairman of the Council, Hon Amusan Gideon paid an unscheduled visit to the Apostolic Primary School 2 and 3, located at Olopoemarun, Ogbomoso where he remains an alumnus of the school. He noticed poor state of the perimeter fencing and the school gates that had become dilapidated.
Hon Gideon told GOALPOACHER NEWS that since Education is one of the key cardinal points of Engr Seyi Makinde’s administration, hence, the need for him to key into the education policy of the present administration by making public schools attractive and pupils and parents.
The Council boss said, “we have reconstructed the perimeter fence in the both school one and two, we erected new sign post and constructed three gates in the school premises.”
“We want to make the school’s environment conducive for teaching and learning, so that pupils and wards will be motivated and be able to compete with others from the private primary schools.
Speaking on security, Hon Gideon said, “the School’s compounds have been fenced to ensure the safety of the pupils while in school.
The Chairman said the measures would depopulate the private schools as a result of the free education policy of the Governor which has increased pupils enrolment our public schools.”
One of the parents who spoke with GOALPOACHER NEWS appreciated the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde and the Caretaker Chairman, Hon Amusan Damilare Gideon for the turn around and massive infrastructure being witnessed in our various schools.
