One cannot set aside the contribution of state house of assembly in each state of the federation, they are the organ responsible for making and enacting law for the development of their state and the federation at large.
Welcome to the Oyo state ninth assembly under the leadership of Honorable Debo Ogundoyin of the Ibarapa east state constituency, his leadership in conjunction with other house members has brought development to our dear Oyo state. If one would ever pray for a state assembly leadership, absolutely the current Oyo ninth assembly if not the best is one of the very best in the Nigeria of today.
If a state governor who heads the executive arm is doing well, check the contribution of the legislative arm, it will be 100% out of 100% all because a tree cannot make a forest.
It is no longer a NEWS to us that COVID-19 took the country by surprise and has since left most state economic swinging like a pendulum bulb. What shall we say about the Oyo state assembly who in cordial and mutual understanding gave their consent to allow their monthly allocations be cut by 30%.
To some people, that is normal because we believe one can enrich his purse by being an honorable member of the state assembly. Funny enough, this honorable members have obligations to fulfilled right from their immediate family to extended family back to the community that produced them.
Our honorable members of the state house of assembly unanimously approved 22.5 billion infrastructural loan for the state government which they used part in the area of healthcare.
Shall we not forget also the 7.6billion naira loan borrowed by the previous administration but yet approved by the current ninth assembly to be repurposed for the Akufo and Eruwa farm estates.
Let us go down the lane of security affairs in our dear country Nigeria, the Oyo house of assembly pass the bill of establishing Amotekun corps into law which will tackle insecurity in Oyo state and the entire southwest Nigeria after the collaboration of the Oyo state government and other South western governments.
The review of the laws in rape and sexual assault to cub sexual violence in the Oyo state and protect our daughters and mothers from human in animal form who thinks taking canal knowledge of females is the best way to go about it. But with the efforts of the Oyo state assembly, there will be no room for evil men in our society.
The backbone of every state administration is the state assembly, we highly commend the efforts of the ninth Oyo state house of assembly members for a job well done at all levels.
May the lord continue to strengthen you all to do more for the progress of Oyo state at large.
