    BREAKING:Oyo Government Approves $1.2m For STEP, Agribusiness Initiative

    Oyo state government has approved 1.2 million dollars for the commencement of Start Them Early Programme an Agribusiness Initiative in 6 selected secondary Schools across the state.

    The Commissioner for Finance Mr Akinola Ojo stated this while briefing journalists shortly after the executive council meeting chaired by Governor Seyi Makinde at the government house Agodi Ibadan.

    The programme according to Finance Commissioner is an intervention programme using a unique approach that would redirect secondary schools students to Agribusiness skills

    He said the state government is working closely with the International Institute Tropical Agriculture to engage more students in Oyo state in the STEP

    The programme is also targeted to encourage youth in Agribusiness and expanded the economy of the state while 6 identified schools will be upgraded by Oyo state government towards kick starting the STEP Agribusiness Initiative.

    Also the Commissioner for Information, culture and Tourism Dr Wasiu Olatubosun while answering questions from journalists said the 6 identified secondary schools would be announced after  due consultation with Director General, Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency,  Dr Debo Akande.
