OPINION: THE 10 957.266 HOURS OF PRODUCTIVITY IN OYO STATE

History has it that for a state or nation to develop exponentially, all advantages, opportunities and low hanging fruits must be tapped while human management is also to be prioritized. The case is not different in Oyo state with GSM’s style of leadership which has created more opportunities for all and sundry irrespective of tribe, religion, race or creed not withstanding any political affiliation. The level of development no doubt has cut across all sectors.

It’s however pertinent to note that, the development is in phases and with our support, it will surely get to the nook and cranny of the state as projected by His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde.

Without much rhetorics, it is important to pick few of the ongoing projects in the state while we charge those that are saddled with the responsibilities never to deviate from the vision and mission of this current administration.

Evidently, On Tuesday, 27th May 2020, Engr. Seyi Makinde handed over the pacesetter Quarry and Asphalt Plant in Ijaiye to Carboncor Road Technology Ltd in a Public – Private Partnership Arrangement. The arrangement which was aimed at mutual benefits will generate funds for the government, create jobs and will enable easy access to asphalt for road projects in the state.

Interestingly, within two months, the moribund Quarry and Asphalt plant has commenced full operation and this is another confirmation that our able Governor really means business and focused on his mission to reposition Oyo state to it’s pace setting status.

We can not overemphasize the ongoing Ultramodern Iwo Road Bus Terminal which will improve the state’s socioeconomic activities and reduce the level of insecurity in that axis. It will also attract investors. The light up Oyo project is another laudable one though there is need for orientation on maintainance culture for all these infrastructure to stand the test of time.

I had a “wow” experience when I visited Lekan Salami Stadium few days ago. The remodelling work is going smoothly and in some months time, the stadium will wear entirely new look.

If we recall, on August 17, 2020, during the flag off, Engr Seyi Makinde said the project will be funded via the Alternate Project Funding Approach (APFA). He also promised that it would be completed in 18 months. This is a good news for all Oyo state indigent as it is another land stride achievement in the making.

In short, I am on the same page with Narendra Modi _who once said *_Good Governance cannot remain merely a philosophy. Concrete steps have to be taken for realizing its goals.*_

His excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde is presently taking concrete steps to convert his ideas/philosophy to results and it’s very important to state that no amount of distraction can stop this God’s own project from actualizing it’s aims and objectives. Our focus is people, people and nothing more than the people. It is high time we all shun any form of ill – politicking, religious cards while we think Oyo first.
