The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Agency( OYRTMA), Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi has implored motorists, both private and commercial across the State to observe all necessary driving precautionary measures particularly as the rainy season lingers in the State.
Fagbemi stated this when led officers of his agency to rescue victims of a ghastly crash involving an unnumbered Toyota Corolla car along the State Government House Road, Ibadan.
He advised drivers to drive at permissible speed limits as the Authority notes that while speed thrills, it also kills.
Dr. Fagbemi further said the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde is irrevocably committed to doing all humanly possible to reduce the accident index in the State to barest minimum.
He equally harped that while vigilance of everyone is safety for all, negligence of anyone is danger for all.
According to Fagbemi, “earlier today around 0400hours, we rescued victims of a ghastly crash involving an unnumbered Toyota Corolla car along the State Government House Road, Ibadan.”
“This crash, preliminary investigations revealed was occasioned by reckless driving cum over speeding and drunk driving.
While one victim was successfully rescued, death of a passenger who passed away before our men’s arrival was recorded and the remains had been deposited in the hospital.”
The accident vehicle has been removed from the road corridor by OYRTMA officers and handed over for further investigations by relevant security agencies.”
