French Envoy Lauds Makinde, Says Oyo Has Made Appreciable Development,Pledges Massive Investment for State
The French government has expressed its readiness to massively invest in Oyo state particularly in areas of agriculture, health and other amenities that would support infrastructural development in the state
The ambassador of France to Nigeria, Jerome Pasquier made this known when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Seyi Makinde in his office.
Ambassador Pasquier explained that the state has witnessed appreciable sense of development since his last visit and pledged to prevail on his people in facilitating more investment opportunity in the state.
Governor Seyi Makinde in a response noted that since assumption of office, Oyo state has experienced positive change in its socio economic landscape, adding that the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state had recorded 26.4% growth as government remained committed in addressing infrastructural deficit
While explaining that the state is ready for business, Governor Makinde drew the attention of the French envoy to the state agric initiative called STEP and expressed confidence that partnership with France would bring better fortune.
The Ambassador was accompanied by the Consul General Laurence Monmagrant and other top diplomatic officials.
