Iraq, at that time, was a war zone, fraught with instability and danger. Yet, Ambassador Arapaja did not hesitate. His courage in embracing this challenging role underscores his deep commitment to Nigeria’s foreign policy goals and his personal resolve to make a difference. This decision was not merely symbolic; it paved the way for stronger bilateral relations between Nigeria and Iraq.
Under Ambassador Arapaja’s leadership, Nigeria and Iraq saw the signing of significant trade agreements. The establishment of RCCG, with Pastor Sam Nkana sent from Nigeria by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, provided a spiritual home where Nigerians could worship in a familiar setting and language.
