AANFE Empowers Communities Through Izal, Insecticide Production Workshop
In a bid to foster local entrepreneurship and enhance public health, Hon. Ayo Olopoenia, the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Adults and Non-Formal Education (AANFE), recently organized an impactful workshop and seminar focused on the production of izal (a widely used disinfectant) and insecticide.
The event took place at the AANFE headquarters, attracting a diverse group of participants, including community members, local business owners, and educators.
The workshop was designed to impart practical skills and knowledge essential for the manufacturing of these important household products.
Participants were guided through the step-by-step processes involved in creating izal and insecticides, with a strong emphasis on the importance of safety measures and quality assurance in production.
Industry experts and facilitators led engaging discussions on the types of raw materials required, the economic benefits of local production, and the potential for creating small businesses around these products.
The workshop also addressed the growing demand for disinfectants and pest control solutions, particularly in the wake of heightened awareness around hygiene and health.
Hon. Olopoenia highlighted the significance of skill acquisition in driving economic development, stating, “Empowering our communities with the skills to produce essential goods is not just about improving health standards; it’s also about fostering entrepreneurship and creating sustainable livelihoods.”
“This initiative is a step toward self-reliance and economic independence.”
The workshop aligns with AANFE’s mission to promote adult education and vocational training as vital tools for community development.
By equipping individuals with practical skills, the agency aims to reduce unemployment and enhance the overall quality of life in Oyo State.
