Abass Oloko Blasts Oluwo Over Scathing Remarks on Olubadan, Says Boundary is at Odo Oba Not Ogburo

Mogaji and popular politician in Oyo State, Abass Oloko, has strongly condemned the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, for his “reckless and disrespectful” remarks directed at the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
The controversy erupted after Oluwo rejected the Olubadan’s assertion that the Oba River serves as the natural boundary between Ibadan and Iwo.

Oloko clarified that the true boundary is at Odo Oba, not Ogburo, emphasising the historical significance of this delineation.
In his statement, Oloko expressed, “All his predecessors never had the gut to be rude to the Olubadan. This shows a lack of respect for the highly revered Ibadan monarch.”
He criticized Oluwo for going beyond his bounds, stating that such disrespect is unacceptable.
Meanwhile, the traditional leaders in Ibadanland, including Mogajis, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Obas, Baales, and the Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), have echoed Ololo’s sentiment.
They have united in condemning Oluwo’s comments as a dangerous provocation that could incite unrest among landowners in the disputed areas.
