Adebanjo was a Towering Figure in The Political History of Nigeria Says Arapaja
The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has described the death of the foremost nationalist and national leader of the Pan Yoruba group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo as the end of another era in Yoruba and Nigerian politics
Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja stated this in a condolence message he personally issued and made available to journalists through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim following the death of Pa Adebanjo which occurred earlier this morning.

In the statement, Ambassador Arapaja described the deceased as a towering figure in Nigeria’s political history who always advocated for true federalism, equity and justice in his lifetime.
According to the statement, “I joined Pa Ayo Adebanjo’s associates, political allies and other various groups within and outside Nigeria in sympathizing with his family over the unfortunate incident of his death which occurred this morning.

The deceased was a complete elder statesman, a very distinct politician, apostle of true federalism with an uncommon love for the emancipation of the masses.
He was the foremost nationalist, former organizing secretary of the defunct Action Group (AG) and national leader of Afenifere until his death.
We will forever cherish his commitment to fighting for the truth, equity and justice which he fought for until he breathes his last.
His death is no doubt created a vacuum for his belief and struggle for a truly independent and progressive Nigeria.
I pray to Almighty God to accept his return and admit him to eternal rest. May God grant his family, his associates, the Yoruba race and Nigeria as a whole the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” Arapaja prayed.
