Adeboye Tackles Subordinate, States Reason Jesus, Apostles Didn’t Collect Tithe – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has explained the reason behind jesus and his apostles did not collect tithes.

Adeboye made this known during the October edition of the RCCG Holy Ghost Service, addressed the topic in response to an unnamed pastor who preached against tithing, arguing that Jesus never collected tithes.

“One of my pastors went online and preached a sermon on why people should not pay tithes. I watched the sermon, thinking I would learn something profound,” he said.

The pastor went on to recount the preacher’s reasoning: “He said we shouldn’t pay tithes because Jesus didn’t collect tithes. I said, ah, Jesus was not a parish pastor, He was a world evangelist.”

He expressed disappointment in the sermon, noting that it was a repetition of arguments others had made before. “Forgive me for saying so, but it was a very shallow sermon,” Adeboye added.

In addressing the notion that Jesus did not collect tithes, Adeboye explained, “Jesus was not a parish pastor; He was a world evangelist.

The Bible in Luke 8:1-3 tells us that certain women, including Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna, supported His ministry financially.”

Adeboye further highlighted that the apostles, like Jesus, did not collect tithes because they were not parish pastors either, indicating that the nature of their ministries differed from those overseeing local congregations.

He concluded with a word of caution, referencing a fellow clergyman who had a group of women financially supporting his ministry.

Adeboye urged against gathering women solely for such purposes, warning that such arrangements could lead to moral missteps if not handled with care.
