The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has held a very crucial consultative stakeholders meeting with relevant institutions and associations drawn across the Oke-Ogun zone of the State following the brutal attacks on public facilities and security formations across the State particularly the unfortunate arson incidents carried out at the climax of the recent #endsars protest at Iseyin. .
The meeting called at the instance of the Authority’s Executive Chairman, Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi, was intended to chart a new curve for the effective management of vehicular traffic and human movement across the zone.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the State Commander, Comm. Adeoye Ayoade emphasized that OYRTMA remains a friend of the people and an agency of the State Government whose absolute commitment is in rendering top-notch and unbiased service to the people of the State.
In his words, the Chairman said “while we appreciate all our Royal Fathers at this crucial meeting as well as other stakeholders, we must give special thanks to our people-loving Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his unalloyed support and positive disposition towards the Authority. It is with this huge support that we have been operating not only in Ibadan Metropolis but across all zones in the State particularly in Oke-Ogun. We are therefore here today to reassure the people of the zone that we are not discouraged by the unfortunate aftermath of the protest and we have deliberately listened to the yawning of the people in the areas of traffic control and to this end, more of our men would henceforth be deployed to the zone and more operational and utility facilities would be deployed to enhance their activities”, he concluded.
In attendance at the meeting were representatives of the Aseyin of Iseyin, the Agbaakin of Iseyin and leadership of transport Associations including ACCOMORAN, RTEAN, MTUN, TOAN, TRAMOAS, TTAN, MOTOAN, NACTOMORAS, ANACOWA among others.
