Traditional rulers in Lagos State have endorsed All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for president in 2023.
They described the eminent politician as a national asset, resourceful and experienced leader, a bridge builder and good manager of men and resources.
According to the monarchs, Tinubu is eminently qualified to serve in the highest office, adding that if elected, Nigeria will savour a glorious dawn.
The former Lagos governor has not declared any ambition, although individuals, organisations and groups have been urging him to declare interest in the presidency.
The Lagos traditional rulers endorsed Tinubu, a Third Republic Senator, consummate politician and pro-democracy crusader, during their retreat at the Eko Hotel, Lagos.
Decked in native costumes with flowing beads and crowns to match, they unanimously raised their horsetails in affirmation of their endorsement.
The theme of the conference was:”Peace and Conflict Resolution: The role of traditional rulers.” Speakers included Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Moyo Onigbanjo and Prof. Akin Ibidapo-Obe of the University of Lagos, Akoka.
The traditional rulers hailed the efforts of the Sanwo-Olu administration in conflict resolution and security in the Centre of Excellence.
They also promised to support the government as it continues to implement laudable progressive and people-oriented policies and programmes in the five divisions, three senatorial districts and 57 councils in the state.
