A sport journalist who work with Pensioner FM in Ibadan, Raymond Tolulope was reportedly assaulted by the crew of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan while on official duty.
The incident which occurred at Olubadan Stadium on Wednesday in a match involving 3SC and VIA Academy. A statement issued by the station which was obtained by GOALPOACHER NEWS.COM reads in part:
“3SC crew harassed and threatened our correspondent, Raymond Tolulope during their semifinal clash with VIA Academy in the ongoing Olubadan competion at olubadan stadium yesterday.”
“While sharing his experience, Raymond said he was attacked by the camp commandant team named Awolu while he was discharging his duties as the team was questioning the match official for showing shooting stars player, Abayomi Adebayo a red card for wrong act.”
“Though reason for the referee’s decision was yet to be known but report had it that he involved in some numerous fouls during the match, and the Oluyole Warriors General Manager, Rasheed Balogun ordered the team to leave the pitch immediately after the booking.”
“Furthermore, the team curator also threatened Raymond on what audacity did he have do capture what was going on, on the pitch.”
“According to Raymond, the curator said Ibadan is big, you are new in Ibadan and we can meet anywhere.”
“Pensioners fm has reached out to the management of 3SC to hear their side of the story.”
As at the time of filing this report, 3SC management are yet to respond to calls and messages sent to the management of the popular football club.
