An executive member of the Afijio Local Government, Hon. Ayoola Kolawole Ojo (a.k.a Arabambi) has commended the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde for his consistent focus on youth development.
Arabambi who was speaking with journalists in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, an Thursday described Makinde as a leader with a comprehensive agenda for the total empowerment of youths in Oyo State
He added that the governor enjoys the support of all segments of the state, because of his persistence in lifting the youth from poverty to prosperity.
He said, “Through Governor Makinde’s critical investments, youths have been recognised in the process of taking Oyo State to the greater heights.”
He specifically applauded the governor on the setting up of a N500 million MSME fund for youth entrepreneurs, with bright business ideas in the State.
“Don’t forget that the governor during his recent meeting with our traditional rulers and other Stakeholders in Ibadan, after the #EndSARS protest promised to provide funds for our youth entrepreneurs, in order to improving the economic landscape of Oyo State,” he said.
Arabambi noted that the agenda of the governor towards realising the emergence of youth in leadership positions in the state is another feat achieved by this administration.
On the recent EndSARS protests, the politicians commended the way Governor Makinde managed the situation in the state to thee satisfactory of the youth.
“Governor is making it clear at every forum that the only way any meaningful development or change can happen in the Nigerian political landscape is by carrying the youth along in developmental process”.
Arabambi however urged the youth not to shy away from presenting themselves for political offices at the ward, local government and state levels.
He also called on youths in the state to keep giving their support to the current administration in Oyo State and not allowing themselves to be used by any selfish politicians whose agenda, he said is to hinder the progress of the state.
He therefore enjoined the youth to start equipping themselves intellectually for leadership positions and ensure that they fully organise themselves for future elections.
Speaking on his future political ambition, Arabambi said he is aspiring to vie for the chairmanship post in the upcoming local government election.
He promised that if God permits that to happen, he would be a bright example of what youth can do if entrusted with power.
