Amidst the boundary dispute between Aawe and Kieseni communities, Alhaji Hon. Prince Arowosaye Saheed Adeyemi Arosad, the Executive Chairman of Oyo East local government, led the Oyo East traditional council and other top government officials on Tuesday for an on-the-spot assessment of the damages in Kieseni community.
Arosad, accompanied by Hon. Mrs. Mojisola Kafilat Olakojo, the Executive Chairperson of Atiba local government, Hon Bamise Alabi (Oyo Southeast LCDA), and security agencies, inspected the affected houses in the Kieseni community, including those in Ajoda Igbo Olosun village and Ondese village, both severely damaged during the dispute.
Addressing the illegal incident, Chief Lateef Busari, the Baale of Kieseni, described it as a war zone initiated by the Aawe community, accusing them of destroying houses and giving temporary occupants a three-day ultimatum to vacate the Kieseni community.
“Aawe mobilized themselves here with a low bird trailer packed with an excavator and bulldozer to destroy all our houses, accompanied by policemen and thugs to chase away my peace-loving people from the community,” he stated.
Arosad, in a generous move, provided monetary support to those affected by the crisis, affirming, “We have come to assess the level of damage and assure you that the state government, in collaboration with Oyo East local government, has increased surveillance and safety for the people of Kieseni.”
“We reassure you that our administration, along with that of Afijo Local Government Area, is actively working to find a lasting solution to the dispute with the Awe community.”
“We commended the Kieseni community for their patience and for not taking the law into their own hands.”
Accompanying Arosad in his entourage were; Oyo Southeast LCDA Boss, Hon Bamise Alabi, members of Oyo East local government traditional council, Atiba Chairperson Hon. Mojisola Kafilat Olakojo, Oyo federal constituency GLO, Hon. Akin Alawode, Hon. Mumini Owolabi, Hon. Akerele Kayode Oyewole, Oyo East Chief of Staff, Head of local government administration, and several others.
