BOAAT Founder, Amofin Beulah Adeoye Mourns Loss of Prince Ajibola Afonja

Amofin Beulah Adeoye, founder of the Beulah Olufemi Ayanfe Adeoye Trust (BOAAT), has expressed deep condolences to the people of Oyo Alaafin (Oyo Metropolitan Communities) over the passing of elder statesman, Founder/Chairman of IDS Oyo, Former Minister of Trade and Industry, and former Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria, Prince Ajibola Afonja. This loss is felt profoundly across Oyo State and Nigeria.

According to information reaching us, the esteemed industrialist Prince Ajibola Afonja passed away on Sunday night at the University College Hospital (UCH).

In a heartfelt statement released to the press, Amofin Buelah Adeoye remarked, “Baba Afonja was a towering figure in Nigeria’s banking and industrial sectors. His contributions to human and community development were significant and far-reaching. Growing up, stories of his impactful work and dedication are too myriad to be recounted. It is also noted that he once served as a minister of the Federal Republic. His presence was synonymous with nation-building efforts.

“I am continually amazed by his philanthropy; his generosity was boundless. People often spoke of his readiness to spend his last kobo to help others achieve their goals. His home was always open to those in need, and he consistently supported others’ growth and success without bias or sentiment.

“We have indeed lost an invaluable asset and a precious gem. Oyo town, Oyo State, and Nigeria have lost a truly good man. His absence will be profoundly felt, and his contributions will be difficult to replace.

“On behalf of my foundation and my family, I extend our heartfelt condolences. May Allah comfort his family and grant our father Aljanah Firdaus.”
