Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has assured protesters from the six local government areas whose houses fall within Ibadan Circular road project corridor that the government would not go beyond the initial 150 meters designed by the administration of Lam Adesina.
When asked to make clarifications in Yoruba language on the 150 metres earmarked as set back for the road corridor, Makinde said, 75 metres to the right and 75 metres to the left.
The Governor however issued stern warnings to land grabbers and other residents who are planning to encroach on areas that are underdeveloped (non-residential) which fall within 500 metres to perish the thought of have themselves to blame.
He promised that his administration would continue to prioritize the welfare of all residents.
Representative of the protesters who spoke earlier lauded Makinde for his developmental strides in Oyo State saying he has surpassed his predecessors in all areas.
The protesters hailed the Governor immediately he said the corridor would not exceed 75m to the right and 75m to the left.
Makinde was flanked by Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Dahud Kehinde Sangodoyin, Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Housing, Akin Fumilayo, Special Adviser and Executive Assistant on Security, Owoseni and Odukoya.
