Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has revealed plans by his administration to establish two airstrips in Oyo State.
Makinde stated this on Monday at the passing out parade of Forest Rangers, an arm under the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps held at NYSC Orientation Camp, Iseyin.
Speaking at the passing out ceremony, the Governor said, “I know people will criticize me for what I’m about to say but I don’t care.
“We’ll set up an arm of Amotekun that will be using aircraft and drones for surveillance in our forest.
“We’ll establish two airstrips in Igbeti (Olorunsogo local government) and Otu (Itesiwaju local government).”
Makinde declared that the initiative would be made possible following the ongoing upgrade of Ibadan Airport to International Standard.
