BUHARI’S BROADCAST: Disappointing, A Political Decision That Stands Against All Logic—–Teslim Folarin

The Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District in the senate, Teslim Kolawole Folarin has reacted angrily  to President Muhammadu Buhari’s broadcast on COVID-19 Cumulative Lockdown, describing it as disappointing and mere political decision that stood against all logic.

Senator Teslim Folarin stated this while speaking on Fresh FM COVID-19 SITUATION ROOM this Tuesday. He said the position taken by the President stood against all logic judging by statistics ranging from the first lockdown, the country has over 147% percent increase in the pandemic outbreak in the country.

Folarin, who was the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in the 2015 election and came distant 4th in the contest, advised that Buhari ought have announced another round of lockdown for two weeks. He said, “as at this morning, we have 1273 cases, 40 deaths in 32 states, amounting to 294% rise. Mr president’s action stands against all logic”

Teslim Folarin alleged that State Governors Governors didn’t want to spend money. He said, “the Governors didn’t want to spend money,I don’t know why, they don’t want to spend money. They said to the President behind the scene, if you want usto lockdown, give us money and the President is not willing to release money to them.”

“So they put pressure on the president and Mr President seeing high resistance from the citizens that there can’t be total lockdown without palliatives.”

“For that reason,Mr President allowed the Governors to have their way, that’s what I suspect.”

When asked if people from  his senatorial district have received the Federal Government Conditional Cash Transfer, Teslim Folarin said no one has called him to say if he or she has got the money or not. When pressed further by the anchor, Mayor Isaac Brown, Folarin declined comment on the Federal Government Cash Transfer Policy.

Folarin,  however, expressed his displeasure on the decision of the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to have asked workers from level 13 and above to resume at the State Secretariat. He declared that he was against such decision.
