Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho has not been released by the authorities of Benin Republic, his media aide Olayomi Koiki has informed DAILY INDEPENDENT.
There were reports on social media that Igboho who was arrested in Cotonou on Monday night alongside his wife Ropo Adeyemo has been released and is on his way to Germany.
“Please disregard the report. There is nothing as such ” he said.
In a related development, Yomi Alliyu(SAN), the counsel to Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has denied reports that the activist been released by the government of Benin Republic.
There are reports currently trending on social media that Igboho has been released by the government of Benin Republic and he is on his way to Germany.
But in a telephone interview with Newspeakonline few minutes ago, Alliyu said Igboho has not been released, adding that he is still being detained in Benin Republic.
