COVID-19:Ibadan Recreation Group Donates N1.5m To Oyo Endowment Fund

 

Ibadan Recreation Group 1902 has joined the legion of cheerful givers who have supported  the Oyo State government in curtailing the pandemic, by donating sum of N1.5m to the account of the state covid-19 endowment fund.

The donation took place at the Oyo State Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Secretariat, Ibadan,

In his speech, the President of the Club, Mr. Olumakinde Oni, who appreciated the effort put in place so far by the state government in containing and curtailing the deadly virus also revealed that Governor Seyi Makinde as a grand patron of the club has contributed a lot to the progress of the club and this prompted it executives to support the task force with the token in combating the spread of coronavirus in the state.

He added that they have extended the same gesture to many communities withing ibadan, as well as vulnerable members of the club to lighten the burden of the government as part of their community and social responsibilities.

While presenting the cheque, a Trustee of the club, Honorable Babayomi Taiwo urged people of Oyo State to adhere strictly to the preventive measure put in place by the medical experts.

In his remark, Director of Public Funds, Oyo state Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Doctor O.N Lawal on behalf of the state government and stakeholders of covid-19 appreciated the club generosity.

He emphasised on the effort of Governor Makinde to take the health service to the door step of the people and promised that all the contributions will be put to optimal use of for the benefit of the people.
