A significant assembly of dignitaries and Islamic scholars convened in Eruwa to honour the memory of the late Alhaji Prince Waheed Adenrele Oyedepo during his 8th Day Fidau prayer.
The solemn event was marked by heartfelt prayers, recitations from the Holy Quran, and an insightful lecture, all aimed at reflecting on the legacy of the departed.
The gathering was organized by the Oyo State Council of the Ansar Ud Deen Society of Nigeria, under the leadership of its Chairman, Alhaji H.T.G. Ladejo, alongside other executive council members and prominent figures from the Ibarapa branch of the Society.
Imam Dr. Bashiru Olanrewaju, the State Council Missioner, delivered a poignant sermon that emphasized the importance of the human soul and its connection to divine judgment.
Imam Olanrewaju articulated that the soul is the essence of human existence, guiding individuals in their relationship with God.
He stressed that a Godly soul leads to success in this world, while a soul lacking righteousness is destined for failure.
“When the soul leaves the body, the human is dead. It is the soul that is judged on the last day and rewarded with either eternal bliss or suffering,” he remarked.
Encouraging attendees to reflect on their spiritual state, the Imam advised everyone to contemplate the condition of their souls each night before sleep, fostering a mindset that prepares them for the afterlife.
The event was attended by numerous eminent personalities, including Dr. Oyebade Oyedepo, President/CEO of MFP Global Services and board member of the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA); Alhaji Lukman Dauda, Managing Director of Evans Brothers (Nigeria Publishers) Limited; and Barrister Abiodun Ajifolawe, Executive Director of Greenbond Finance Company Limited.
