The Oyo State Government and the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board has introduced new uniform for Apex Nurses and Nurses in the its facilities in the state for easy identification and proper recognition between the nurses and all other members of staff.
Delivering his keynote address,the chairman of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board Dr. Akin Fagbemi said the launching of new uniform for both Apex Nurses and Nurses signifies the beginning of new era for the health sector in the state.
He stated further that the introduction of new uniform will allow for proper identification, improve security and easy recognition among the staff in various facilities in Oyo state.
Dr. Fagbemi highlighted various achievements of the people’s governor Engr. Oluseyi Makinde as recruitment of health workers into various cadre within the hospitals,approval of uniform allowances for the nurses,prompt payment of salary to all workers as promised during the electioneering campaign,payment of new minimum wage as approved by the Federal govt and payment of 13th month to all workers in the state.
He therefore commended his excelllency Engr Oluseyi Makinde FNSE for doing great job in providing good and qualitative health care services to the people of Oyo state.
The chairman while unveiling the uniform said the brown colour is for the Apex Nurses while the purple colour is for the Nurses in our various hospitals.
The Permanent Secretary,Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board Dr. Anifat Ibraheem appreciated the contribution and support of the state government by making sure that all the citizen of the state enjoy basic health. care services.
The Director of Nursing Services(DNS) Mrs. Eyitayo Ayoola said the government of Oyo state under the leadership of Engr. Oluseyi Makinde has done so much for the nurses in Omi-Tuntun 2.0 sustainable health care services to the people of Oyo state.She enumerated some of the good work of the current administration as recruitment of workers,increase in the number of student internship,approval of uniform allowances for all the nurses in the state and payment of salary as at when due.
The chairman of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives(NANNM) Dr. Adeleke Oladele who was represented by the Vice-chairman of the association,Comrade Adeleke Olugbade commended the effort of his excellency Gov. Makinde for the provision of qualitative, accessible and affordable health care to the people of Oyo state.
Present at the occasion were the chairman OYSHMB Dr. Akin Fagbemi,the Permanent Secretary Dr Anifat Ibraheem,the Directors in the board,the representative of the chairman of NANNM Comrade Adeleke Olugbade and all the Apex Nurses in the state.
