Dr. Fagbemi, Engr. Akeem Olatunji Synergize On Reviving Dilapidated General Hospital, Orile-Odo

As part of strategic efforts targeted at revitalizing healthcare delivery in Oluyole Local Government, the Chairman, Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Dr Akin Fagbemi, last weekend joined Engr. Akeem Olatunji, Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, for an on-site inspection of the General Hospital in Orile-Odo area of the council.

The discussions centered on harmonizing the various modalities needed to restore the hospital’s infrastructure, such as securing funding, mobilizing contractors for repairs, and addressing staffing gaps.

Both leaders agreed that a holistic approach, involving local and state government resources, would be essential to ensure the hospital meets the needs of the growing population.

The facility, which has long suffered from neglect and infrastructure decay, has been targeted as a medical facility that would open up access to quality healthcare services at the grassroots.

The inspection was part of Olatunji and Dr Fagbemi’s larger synergistic initiative to address the deteriorating conditions of the hospital, which has struggled to provide adequate healthcare services to the residents of Oluyole.

During the visit, both leaders engaged in detailed discussions on strategies to bring the hospital back to full functionality, focusing on the urgent need for structural repairs, upgraded medical equipment, and improved staffing.

“Today marks an important step towards restoring this vital healthcare institution to its original purpose which is to serve the people of Oluyole Local Government and its environs.

“Our objective is to ensure that the hospital becomes a hub for quality healthcare services in line with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to provide quality and accessible healthcare services for all.” Olatunji said.

Confirming the plan to newsmen, Engr. Olatunji emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts by both state and Oluyole local government in addressing the challenges facing the general hospital.

“We understand the critical role this hospital plays in the community, and we are committed to working hand-in-hand with the Oyo State Government to bring it back to full operational capacity. This is not just a project, but a long-term investment in the health and well-being of our people,” Olatunji added.

The revitalization of the General Hospital, Orile-Odo is expected to not only provide better healthcare services but also enhance the overall quality of life for residents in Oluyole local government local government, Olatunji stated.
