The Executive Chairman of Egbeda local government, Hon Sanda Sikiru Oyedele has called for love and unity among political functionaries and staffers of Egbeda local government.
This charge was given by the chairman during the 2025 annual Inter-Faith prayer session organized by Nigeria Local Government Employees (NULGE) Egbeda local government chapter to usher in the new year.
The chairman said, “it is only the atmosphere of love and unity that development can thrive, just as the called for peaceful co-existence among staff and political office holders of Egbeda local government.
Hon. Sanda also advised the workforce of Egbeda local government to draw their new year resolutions by shun any form of truancy, absenteeism, abnormalities, irregularities at work and ensure that they work towards achieving set goals for themselves and the local government by improving in local government Internally Generated Revenue and rendition of financial returns to the appropriate quarters.
According to him,”we must learn to imbibe best practices, accomplish goals and improve our behaviour as the year begins because any form of truancy, laziness, lateness and all acts of indiscipline will not be condoned”
The council boss later promised good welfarism for the workforce of Egbeda local and Ajorosun LCDA like good health facilities for free check up of all staff in the local government, prompt payment of pensioners and staff salaries as when due in line with computerised way, payment of allowances just to mention a few.
Earlier in his own new year message, the vice chairman/Political Head Ajorosun LCDA, Hon Ibrahim Oladebo Simple congratulated staffers of Egbeda LG and Ajorosun LCDA for the opportunity given to witness the new year and implored all staff to ensure tranquility of peace and promote peaceful co-existence.
However, both Muslim and Christian clerics in their different sermons advised staff and political functionaries to look up to God and rely solely on Him because He is the only one who can help during challenges.
The Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja DR. Ayobami Monsurat Alaga used the avenue to appreciate all staffers that were present in office on the resumption day of year 2025 by given them gifts and thanked everyone for smooth running of year 2024 and prayed that Almighty God give us long life with sound health to sail the ship of 2025.
