EID-EL KABIR: NEMA PARTNERS OYRTMA ON SAFE CELEBRATIONS, LAUNCHES OPERATION EAGLE EYE

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has concluded a partnership arrangement with the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) and other relevant agencies in a concerted effort aimed at ensuring an itch-free Eid-el Kabir celebrations across the State.

This was disclosed earlier today by the OYRTMA Executive Chairman, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi PhD., after the flag-off ceremony of ‘Operation Eagle Eye’ by NEMA.

Dr. Fagbemi said the special operation would further consolidate the preparedness of the Authority in ensuring an accident free eid-el kabir celebrations across the 33 LGAs of the State.

“This collaboration with NEMA is one of its kind and it would help to significantly mitigate the effects of inadequate personnel to mount strategic locations across the State. The synergy would assist in bridging the wide gap between our available human resources and the high volume of human and vehicular movement during the period’, Dr. Fagbemi said.

He added that the exercise would in addition to reducing traffic across the State, help to minimize road traffic crashes during the eid-el-kabir festivities.
