The attention of IKERE PROGRESSIVE YOUTH and political leaders within EKITI SOUTH FEDERAL Constituency 1 has been drawn to conversations ahead of the next Federal legislative representations, particularly the need for fairness, zoning, and inclusive participation across all districts.
Ikere LG remains an integral part of Ekiti South federal Constituency 1, with a long-standing history of contribution, loyalty, and commitment to the collective progress of our people.
It is important to state clearly that ikere LG is home to credible, competent, and experienced sons and daughters who are already serving with distinction across various levels of government and public service. These individuals possess the capacity, character, and exposure required to represent the entire Ekiti South federal Constituency 1, not just IKERE
Democracy must go beyond continuity; it must reflect equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging for all districts. Zoning and rotation are not instruments of division, but tools for unity ensuring that every segment of the constituency sees itself reflected in leadership.
The call for IKERE representation is not borne out of hostility or disregard for past leaders and their contributions. Rather, it is driven by the collective desire for balance, renewal, and the opportunity for other qualified voices to serve and contribute at Federal levels.
Public office should remain a shared responsibility, not a permanent preserve. Sustainable leadership flourishes when opportunities are deliberately broadened and new leadership is encouraged.
We therefore respectfully assert that ikere lg deserves its fair turn in the representation of Ekiti South federal Constituency 1 in line with principles of zoning, fairness, and democratic growth.
We reaffirm our commitment to peace, dialogue, and unity, and we call on all stakeholders across EKITI SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY 1 to support an inclusive political future that recognizes competence wherever it exists.
