Financial Inclusion: Makinde’s aide, Hon Ramota Agberemi Dabo Supports 29 Women with Cash, Banking Services

 

As a significant step towards empowering women in the Akinyele and Lagelu Local Government Areas of Oyo State, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ramota Agberemi Dabo, has taken a bold step to provide 29 women with cash support and helping them open bank accounts.

The move is part of her efforts to support the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde in promoting financial inclusion among women and support their economic development.

She appreciated His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity given to women to serve in his government and to showcase the administrative potentials.

According to Hon Ramota Agberemi Dabo, the initiative will help the women gain financial independence and reduce their reliance on informal credit systems.

“This is a step towards liberating these women and helping them take control of their own lives.

“These women needed to be celebrated, appreciated and empowered, my key statement: when women are united, we are beautiful, better, bigger, stronger and heard clearly in the society.”

The beneficiaries were women leaders in Akinyele and Lagelu Local Governments, they were carefully selected based on their needs and potential for growth, will receive the cash support in installments over a period of time, along with training and mentorship to help them make the best use of the funds.

In addition to the cash support, Hon Ramota Agberemi Dabo has invited officials from Unity Bank to help the women open bank accounts, providing them with access to formal financial services and laying the foundation for their financial stability.

The opening of bank accounts is a crucial step in the women’s journey towards financial independence, as it will enable them to save, borrow, and transact in a safe and secure manner.

She however, emphasised that the initiative is just one part of the Oyo State Government’s broader commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality in the state.

She promised that the gesture would be extended to more women in other local government areas very soon.
