The Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Students’ Affairs, Victor Olojede, has assured the students of the Oba Akinbiyi Model School, Mokola, Ibadan, that the challenge of flooding in the school will soon be a thing of the past as the government is working towards putting an end to such occurrence.
Olojede, who gave the assurance on Thursday while briefing newsmen after on-the-spot assessment visit to the school premises, maintained that the safety and well-being of the students is one of the priorities of the governor.
He lamented the unfortunate incident and urged the students and staff of the school to remain undisturbed as the government is working towards erecting proper channelization and good drainage system for the school.
Olojede said: “Today I visited the Oba Akinbiyi Model School, Mokola after the incident of water flooding the classrooms and offices in the school.
“I made it known to the students that their safety and well-being is one of the priorities of the Governor and the Government will look into finding a lasting solution to the challenge.
“While I informed them that the Governor and top government functionaries are aware, I also wished them very best in their examination starting tomorrow, Thursday, 31st.”
Olojede, however, thanked the staff and teachers for the help being rendered to better the lot of the students.
