… As Partnership Aims to Train and Retrain Young Professionals in Healthcare
The management of Fountain University, Osogbo, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Akin Fagbemi, Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB), to congratulate him on his appointment and explore collaboration on nursing training in OYSHMB’s health facilities.
Prof. Karim expressed her delight upon learning that OYSHMB had approved the use of their health facilities for nursing and midwivery training.
She noted that Fountain University’s nursing program, accredited by the Nursing and Midwivery Council of Nigeria, began five years ago.
In his remarks, The Chairman Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi emphasized Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Makinde’s commitment to quality healthcare delivery under the state’s 2023-2024 development roadmap.
He highlighted the government’s focus on training and retraining younger professionals to take over from their predecessors.
Dr. Fagbemi assured Prof. Karim and her team that students would receive maximum support, stating that they were in safe hands.
The entourage included Registrar Mr. Sheriff Adenekan and Dr. Moridiyah Adeyemo, Head of the Nursing Science Department.
