…Launches Ayefele’s Book with N20 Million Support from Makinde, Self
Governor Seyi Makinde’s trusted ally, Otunba Seye Famojuro, has described Fresh FM as an outstanding private radio station that has redefined broadcasting in Oyo State, commending its founder, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, for a decade of excellence, resilience, and innovation.
Famojuro made the remarks on Sunday at the grand finale of the 10th anniversary celebration of Fresh FM Nigeria, held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
Speaking at the event, he expressed deep admiration for Ayefele’s journey and contribution to media development, noting that Fresh FM had become a model of professionalism and creativity in radio broadcasting.
“I want to congratulate my egbon, Dr Yinka Ayefele, and I’m happy to be here. If I’m not here, where else would I have been?”
“I just have to be here because when it comes to radio stations, I give it to you. In Oyo State today, I give it to Fresh FM, you are exceptional.”
Famojuro extended his greetings to traditional rulers, elders, and other dignitaries present before delivering a goodwill message from the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde.
He explained that although Governor Makinde was unavoidably absent, several political functionaries were in attendance to represent him, reaffirming the governor’s respect for Ayefele’s accomplishments and his institution’s growing influence.
“I bring goodwill message from His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. He is supposed to be here today but for one or two reasons, he’s unavoidably absent.”
“But all political functionaries here are representing him. I’m not just a friend to Fresh FM, Yinka Ayefele is my elder brother,” he said.
Famojuro then launched Ayefele’s new book on behalf of Governor Makinde with a donation of ten million naira (N10,000,000), announcing that ten copies of the book would be placed in the libraries of ten higher institutions across the state.
He further launched the book in his personal capacity with another ten million naira (N10,000,000), bringing the total donation to twenty million naira (N20,000,000).
“On behalf of my father, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, I launch this book with the sum of ten million naira.”
“I want ten copies in the libraries of ten higher institutions of learning across the state. Also, I launch this book in my name with the sum of ten million naira, making a total of twenty million naira,” he declared.
The event, which marked a decade of Fresh FM’s impact and excellence, was attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, government officials, media professionals, and admirers from across the country, all celebrating a milestone in Nigerian broadcasting.
