His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, is in Ibadan, to officially pay condolence and attend the burial of late mother of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Late Madam Abigail Amope Omojolagbe Makinde.
The burial programme is billed for this weekend in Ibadan.
The Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei, former Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Elder O. O. Osusu, Special Adviser on Religious Matter, Rev. Godspower Asingba and a friend of the State, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Gabriel Onyewife.
Governor Diri, joined his brother Governor at his Ikolaba residence in Ibadan, the State Capital Thursday afternoon to receive the corpse for lying-in state.
Governor Diri, described the late mother as a virtuous woman who had positive impacts on the lives of the children and that she died when her most -valued advice is needed to support the son, who is the Governor of Oyo State.
He commiserated with the people of Oyo State and the Makinde’s family over the passing of mama and prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Late Madam Abigail Amope Omojolagbe Makinde, died at the age of 81.
