Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has been honored with the title of “Best Supportive Governor in the South” during the recent 2024 Hajj exercise.
The accolade was presented by the Independent Hajj Reporters of Nigeria, a media organization dedicated to monitoring Hajj-related activities in the country.
The announcement which took place at the 2024 Hajj Lecture and Award ceremony, was held in Abuja, with the theme, “Stimulating Accomplishment, Evaluating Challenges.”
The National coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Muhammed highlighted Governor Makinde’s exceptional support for Oyo State pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia and his commitment to effective Hajj management.
In a previous address in July, Governor Makinde praised the chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing), Sheik Hashim Olamide Ateere, for the seamless execution of the 2024 Hajj operations, commending the absence of complaints related to food, accommodation, or welfare from the pilgrims.
