In a remarkable display of leadership and commitment, Hon. Abideen Adetokunbo Adeaga, Chairman of the Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency (OYCSDA), is transforming the landscape of Oyo State through innovative community development initiatives.

With the implementation of sixty-six micro-projects, Adeaga has successfully created 20,000 jobs, through the magnanimity of Governor Seyi Makinde, fundamentally changing the lives of countless residents.

Addressing participants at a recent capacity-building workshop, Adeaga expressed his gratitude to Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for the financial support that made these projects possible.

According to him, “The sixty-six micro-projects are a source of joy for our communities, addressing their concerns about education, health care, and access to clean water. We injected nearly N18 million into each community to foster wealth distribution and empower local institutions.”

The projects spanned critical areas such as the construction and renovation of community health centres, classrooms, and sanitation facilities. During the commissioning of a block of classrooms in Iganna, Adeaga remarked, “We are grateful to our amiable Governor for making this possible. This classroom block is designed to be durable, creating a conducive learning environment for our children.”

Adeaga’s dedication to capacity building is evident in his proactive approach to training local government leaders. “It is essential that our local administrators understand their responsibilities in implementing these developmental projects. This training equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to truly serve their communities.”

The impact of OYCSDA extended beyond infrastructure; it also includes significant social initiatives. With the launch of the Psychosocial Support Programme, over 12,000 vulnerable individuals, including widows and orphans, are set to benefit.

Adeaga highlighted the programme’s importance, noting, “These supports will enhance the ability of the most vulnerable in our communities to deal with everyday challenges and boost their confidence to participate in local projects.”

As OYCSDA continued to expand its initiatives, the commitment to sustainable development is unwavering. Adeaga articulated the agency’s alignment with the Oyo State Roadmap to Sustainable Development: “We are not just building infrastructures; we are crafting a legacy of hope and progress for generations to come.”

Adeaga’s vision for Oyo State is clear. He sees a future where every community thrives, equipped with the resources and support needed to overcome challenges. “Together, we can create a brighter future for our people,” he affirmed, inspiring all those present to embrace the spirit of collaboration and community empowerment.

Under the dynamic leadership of Hon. Abideen Adetokunbo Adeaga, OYCSDA is not just a government agency; it is a beacon of hope, proving that with dedication and vision, transformative change is possible in Oyo State.
