The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye, held an emergency peace and security meeting with key stakeholders with the aim of ensuring safety of lives and properties of Residents within the local government areas.
The meeting which is in line with the vision of the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde to actualize a safe environment for Oyo Residents, was also borne out from the determination of the Executive Chairman to create an environment safe for everyone in the local Government.
Some of the issues of concern discussed at the peace and security meeting include possible ways of curbing kidnapping, banditry and other illegalities within the local government.
At the Meeting held at the Conference hall, Local Government council Moniya, the Stakeholders unanimously agreed to prioritize security matters and redouble efforts against illegal activities within the local government. The stakeholders appreciated the Executive chairman for bringing up such important avenue to discuss security matters, highlighted the challenges faced by them in discharging their duties as required of them.
The Executive Chairman who vowed not to leave any stone unturned to tackle insecurity and assisting security agencies to carry out their constitutional duties of protecting life and properties, assured the stakeholders of collaboration that will yield positive outcomes in the local government.
Present at the Emergency security meeting include The Akinyele local government vice chairman, Hon Sakiru Akintunde, the local government Administrative heads,Representatives of various Security operatives involving The Police, The Nigerian Army, Immigration, Customs, NDLEA, Civil Defence, DSS, Amotekun, Vigilante, Soludero among others.
Others present at the Emergency meeting include The Traditional council represented by The Oniroko of Iroko Oba Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders and other Stakeholders Within the Local Government.
