The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the safety and security of lives and property within the local government with the convening of a high-level security meeting held today, Thursday, at the Council Secretariat.
The meeting brought together key security agencies operating within the local government area, providing a vital platform for collaboration, intelligence sharing, and proactive planning aimed at sustaining peace and preventing crime at the grassroots level.
During the meeting, the various security agencies in attendance presented detailed security reports from their respective areas of jurisdiction, highlighting current security situations, emerging challenges, and preventive measures being adopted to ensure the continued safety of residents.
Addressing participants, Hon. Alawode emphasized that security remains a top priority of his administration, noting that sustainable development cannot thrive without a safe and secure environment.
He stressed the need for synergy among security agencies, community leaders, and the local government to ensure timely response to emerging security challenges.
The council boss commended the security agencies for their dedication and sacrifices, assuring them of the local government’s continued support in the discharge of their duties. He reiterated his administration’s resolve to strengthen community-based security initiatives and promote peace across all wards in Ibadan South East Local Government.
In attendance were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kazeem Kareem; the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Dr. Agnes Olakunbi Ojo; the Acting HLGA, Alhaja Folasade Olanrewaju; and the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), Mr. Kayode Bamgbade, alongside representatives of the traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders and various security formations.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by all stakeholders to work collectively towards enhancing security, maintaining law and order, and ensuring the continued safety of residents.
