The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee (CTC) in Ekiti State, Chief Dare Adeleke, has issued a stern warning to party members against actions that threaten to divide and polarize the organization for personal gain.
This announcement comes in light of recent attempts by certain individuals to undermine the collective efforts of the party during a critical period of leadership transition.
Chief Adeleke expressed his deep concern regarding the ongoing activities of some party members who have been reportedly orchestrating efforts to create rifts within the PDP.
He stated that these actions not only jeopardize the party’s unity but also hinder its progress, particularly as the CTC works diligently to foster an environment of collaboration and mutual respect among members.
In his message, Chief Adeleke highlighted the importance of adhering to the party’s constitution, specifically pointing to Section 24, saying, this section outlines the authority and procedural guidelines for convening meetings within the party.
He stated unequivocally that any unauthorized meetings called by individuals seeking to disrupt the peace and stability of the PDP will not be tolerated.
“Respect for the rights and constitutional powers granted to the Chairman of the CTC is paramount,” he said.
“The party’s constitution is clear about who has the authority to convene meetings, and any deviation from these guidelines is unacceptable.”
The Chairman warned that the party leadership has been made aware of attempts by “cunning individuals” to engage in activities that contravene the party’s code of conduct.
These individuals were accused of spreading misinformation and fostering divisions that could threaten the party’s integrity.
“Such underhanded tactics will not be accepted, and those involved must cease their actions immediately,” he asserted.
Chief Adeleke took this opportunity to express gratitude to loyal party members who have stood by the leadership during these trying times.
He urged all members to prioritize the PDP’s unity and shared objectives over personal ambitions.
“Our strength lies in our solidarity,” he stated, calling for a concerted effort to uphold the values of the party and work together for the common good.
